PledgeLA and the HBCUvc teams extended offers to 13 interns participating in the 2020 PledgeLA Venture Capital Internship program. The cohort is a mix of undergraduate and graduate students from schools such as: USC, MIT Sloan, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Howard University, California State University Los Angeles, and UCLA Anderson School of Management. The diverse class includes groups not well represented in venture capital: all of the interns identify as either a woman or a person of color, seven are first-generation college students, and three students are founders of startups themselves. In mid-June, the interns began 10 weeks of paid training and placement at 11 venture capital firms and accelerators across LA. In a year when so many students are facing cancelled internship programs and job offers, we are humbled to be able to continue to support the PledgeLA VC internship for a second year.
